The House of Hope Graduating Class of 2018.
On Friday, May 18, 2018 House of Hope celebrated their graduation ceremony and reception at Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages. The Opening Prayer was shared by Bishop Tony Jones, Pastor of The City Ministries, Wildwood, Florida. Words of Encouragement were given by Pastor Brad Harter, Youth Pastor of North Lake Presbyterian Church, The Villages, Florida.
Six men graduated from the year long program and academic completions, receiving their diplomas. They were Donald Bass, William Cruzado, Nathan Hartshorn, Robert Rebaudo, Curtis Ricotta, and Tyrone Taylor.
Also honored this evening were Kevin Arzola, Angel (Tommy) Merced II and David Mobley for their academic completions of the program. Certificate of Achievements were awarded to Kevin Arzola, Cory Blaine and Curtis Ricotta for their participation and completion of the GED program they were enrolled in.
We were honored to have The Honorable Judge Paul Militello as our Commencement Speaker, as he encouraged and congratulated each man graduating. Judge Militello is a judge on the Sumter County Court in Florida, appointed by Governor Rick Scott on February 4, 2016. He covers five counties – Sumter, Lake, Marion, Citrus and Hernando. At the time of his judicial appointment, Militello was working as a criminal defense lawyer at his own firm, Paul Militello, P.A.
Judge Mititello’s message was expressed to each one of these men that the journey is not over, but just beginning. You are here tonight because of the people here who support you, and believe in you. You have God, you have had leadership through your teachers, staff and the many volunteers who you have seen as your support at House of Hope. Reach out to other people and continue to attend support groups. He also expressed how wonderful it was to see a church full of people who support you and support House of Hope.
There were over 250 people who attended this ceremony. The men of House of Hope, the staff and Board Members thank each one of you for your participation and your continued support to the men of House of Hope.
